Jennifer Welsh is a Partner with Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan LLP (“FSS”). She brings extensive experience to the firm following 13 years serving as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Delaware. Drawing on her unique background in both criminal investigations and employment law, she helps clients uncover compliance and risk issues and navigate litigation matters. Jennifer excels at finding the crux of a problem quickly and finding solutions, and helps bring a sense of calm competence to crisis situations.

Ms. Welsh was the Senior Litigation Counsel in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, reflecting her role as an experienced trial attorney and mentor to other prosecutors. She was the lead attorney for the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force, and was the international coordinator, working with foreign nations to assist in extradition and evidence collection. She has tried multiple complex drug and money laundering cases to verdict. She also handled a number of fraud investigations and prosecutions. While at the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Welsh handled civil matters as well, including employment litigation, medical malpractice, and civil rights cases.

Over the course of her career, Ms. Welsh received numerous special achievement awards. For example, Ms. Welsh was awarded Prosecutor of the Year in 2024 by the Philadelphia division of Homeland Security Investigations for her work investigating and prosecuting a nationwide cocaine trafficking and money laundering case, stretching from Mexico to California, Texas, New York, and Delaware.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Ms. Welsh was a Trial Attorney with the United States Department of Labor. She handled worker’s safety cases, employment discrimination matters, and investigations of theft or misappropriation of pension assets. She was lead counsel on several trials before administrative judges.

Ms. Welsh was an associate with the Philadelphia law firm Conrad O’Brien, now Clark Hill, prior to her time in public service. She worked on an array of defense and plaintiff-side litigation matters, a number of which went to trial or arbitration – including patent and legal malpractice cases.

Ms. Welsh earned a B.A. in English, from Penn State University in 2003. She earned her J.D. from the James E. Beasley School of Law in 2006.
