
Jesse S. Wenger is Of Counsel at Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan. He brings extensive experience to the firm following his tenure at the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Delaware, where he most recently served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney. He also served as the Office’s Chief of Appeals from April 2022 through May 2026. Prior to his selection as Chief of Appeals, Mr. Wenger served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney handling both criminal and civil matters for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
As Chief of Appeals, Mr. Wenger was responsible for all appellate and post-conviction matters within the Office’s Criminal Division. He briefed or supervised dozens of appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and presented multiple oral arguments before that Court. Mr. Wenger also maintained supervisory authority over all legal motion practice occurring in district court and provided legal advice to the Office’s attorneys.
Mr. Wenger is also a seasoned investigator and trial attorney. He focused as an Assistant U.S. Attorney on combatting white collar crime, corporate fraud, and fraud perpetrated against the United States. He tried multiple jury trials to verdict, including a trial involving an international money laundering scheme.
Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Wenger clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit for the Hon. Kent A. Jordan and on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for the Hon. Gene E.K. Pratter. Prior to that, Mr. Wenger was a litigation associate at a New York City law firm.
Mr. Wenger is also Of Counsel at The Deborah Project, a public interest law firm.
Mr. Wenger graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History in 2011. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School with a J.D in 2014. Mr. Wenger works from our New York and Tel Aviv, Israel locations.
