Robert (“Bobby”) E. O’Neill is Senior Of Counsel with Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan LLP (“FSS”). Prior to joining FSS, Mr. O’Neill was a Founding and Managing Partner with SI Global Partners, as well as a Founding Partner with O’Neill Law Group.
During his government service, Bobby served as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida on two occasions, under former Presidents Bush and Obama. Other notable assignments included:
- Manhattan District Attorney’s Office-Assistant District Attorney
- United States Attorney’s Office (SDFL) -Assistant United States Attorney
- Office of the Independent Counsel- Associate Independent Counsel
- United States Attorney’s Office (MDFL)- Assistant District Attorney
- United States Department of Justice- Deputy Chief, Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Section
As a result of his government service, Bobby acquired extensive experience as a trial lawyer, investigator, crisis manager, and leader. He then leveraged this depth of experience in the private sector as a Managing Director for Freeh Group International Solutions (FGIS), a risk management firm founded by Louis Freeh, a former United States District Judge and former Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
In Bobby’s role as an FSS Senior of Counsel he manages engagements and provides counsel to clients on a global basis. Several of his recent notable assignments include:
- Conducting a compliance review and temporarily served as the chief Compliance Officer for a publicly-held corporation.
- Conducted internal reviews of the Internal Affairs Division and the Narcotics Division for a law enforcement agency.
- Provided global due diligence reviews for domestic and international companies.
- Consulted on behalf of a major gaming concern in its negotiations with the United States Government.
- Conducted an internal investigation of a member of the Board of Directors of a private company.
- Retained by a law enforcement agency to assist in an investigation involving public corruption.
Bobby was recognized for his achievements as a trial lawyer when he was inducted as a fellow into the American College of Trial Lawyers (2011-2021).
Bobby is a graduate of Fordham University (magna cum laude) and New York Law School (cum laude).
