Subject: Announcement of Mr. Benito Romano’s retirement from the law firm of Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan LLP
Dear friends, colleagues, and clients of Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan LLP (FSS),
Today, we announce that our friend and colleague, Benito Romano, will be retiring from the practice of law effective December 31, 2024. Mr. Romano, who currently serves as a Partner at FSS, was admitted to the New York Bar in 1977. Since that time, he has dedicated over forty years of his career to serving his clients in private practice. He consistently demonstrated his expertise in white collar defense, including SEC, FINRA and other regulatory enforcement, and related complex civil litigation, in support of clients on a global basis.
In addition to his distinguished tenure in private practice, Mr. Romano served for seven years in the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Southern District of New York. While at the USAO, he served as Chief of the Public Corruption unit, Chief Appellate Attorney, Executive Assistant United States Attorney and Associate United States Attorney. On February 1, 1989, Mr. Romano was named United States Attorney of the Southern District of New York. We at Freeh Sporkin & Sullivan are grateful for his commitment to public service and the contributions he has made to our clients, our Firm and our field of practice.
Moving forward, Mr. Romano’s ongoing client matters will be transitioned to FSS Partner Ms. Jennifer Arbittier Williams, who will be available to address any questions or concerns that clients may have. We wish Benito all the best in his well-deserved retirement.
Sincerely,
Walter Donaldson II
